Course Description
(3-3-0) This course is taken for academic credit. Students will earn an A, B, C, D, F, or W. Overview of reading development, scientifically proven strategies for teaching reading instruction, and an understanding of how children learn to read. An emphasis on teaching reading through five scientifically-proven components of reading instruction including: phonics awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, reading comprehension. Field-based course.
