Students will explain key theories of cognitive, social, and emotional development in adolescents and apply them to effective instructional practices for grades 7-12.

TEKS designed Lesson Plans

Students will design and adapt lesson plans that integrate content knowledge, pedagogy, and Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for secondary learners.

Student Engagement

Students will describe and apply strategies for maintaining a productive learning environment that promotes student engagement and positive behavior in grades 7-12.

Evaluation

Students will observe secondary classrooms, evaluate teaching effectiveness, and reflect on professional growth through evidence-based practices.

Ethics and Professionalism

Students will exhibit ethical decision-making, cultural responsiveness, and professionalism in accordance with the Texas Educators’ Code of Ethics.
